Like other Holiday Inns, it's institutional and functional, but hardly more than a place to get some rest. Nothing wrong with it, but it's a looooooooong way from the quality and service of a downtown hotel. Cheaper, though.

I assume you are talking about the Holiday Inn "Holidome" on Algonquin Road near the Arlington Race Track. If so....

Its ok, but dated. It has been there quite a long time as I remember going there for a birthday party when I was in elementary school 10 years ago. They have not upgraded it any time recently. Essentially, it is just an indoor pool in regards to waterpark. There are no slides or anything exciting in that means. They do have a basketball court (always taken by "big kids" and a talking parrot. They play disney movies in their little gazebo. It you are shopping based on price alone, a good choice.

If you aren't so concerned with price and want a real waterpark, check out the Sheraton they just built. Its a brand new indoor waterpark that kicks butt! Like the Dells but in Chicago. There is also one in Rockford.

They are a real indoor waterpark with a lazy river, play structure, and more. This place will entertain the kids for days, where the holidome you will need to do quite a bit more supervising.

I would suggest the Sheraton's CoCoKeyResort over the Holidome having seen both....

I got the ability to never again choose an ink pen that is out of ink, and therefore, I'll never have to dig through my purse for a gum wrapper to scribble on. I can throw my wrappers away like a normal person. Oh, and also the ability to estimate the number of oly's lap hairs the maid missed cleaning up in the shower.

There is a pretty cool looking Wisconsin Dells type water park in Arlington Heights. I am going to take my kids there the first chance I get. Take a look at the website. Click on Chicago, Il.......And it isn't far from Schaumburg.
