In like 1960, scientists did a survey on babies under 3 years old! They put two dolls on their lap, one was white, the other black! They asked the babies which baby doll was good and which was evil and which they would rather play with! 90% pick the white doll as good and they would rather play with it! So a girl in college did the same survey a few years ago. A sad 80% still picked the white doll over the black one! 45 years of work only paid off for 10%! When I heard that, I thought to myself...I would probably rather play with the white doll...even though im too old for baby dolls. But being 12, i wouldn't say that the black doll was any worse than the white. I just realized that don't people teach kids that white is good and pure? everyone loves snow, but no one likes mud! What do you think?

Yeah, here in China, ALL dolls are white dolls, although no white people live in this country, and all the white dolls are acturally produced by Chinese companies, not by imports at all. It is a tragedy. Black people in this world are indeed in terrible shape, due to this sort of prejudice, especially in white societies.

You're only twelve? That's a bit better then. You need to keep in mind that any one survey/study hardly ever creates an accurate portrayal of the general consensus. Never ever ever trust one source on information. This study would be so easy to manipulate. How do you know that the black doll didn't have it's head ripped off? Most kids wouldn't want to play with a headless doll would they?

Many years ago a teacher did an experiment in her class of young children. She separated them by eye color, singling out children with brown eyes.
She then started to make vague specious generalizations about brown eyed people. By the time she was done, all the other children started to ostracize and hate the ones with brown eyes. The brown eyed children were in tears.
Educators and mental health care professionals felt it was because as a teacher she had a greater influence over children than she would have over adults.
She took them up on the challenge. Same results. Over and over, same results. Stereotyping and prejudice begins in the home.
I learned about this in the early 80's as part of my company's fairness at work initiative.
A person trained in the technique did it to us without our prior knowledge of what was to come. We all came away shocked. These were all highly skilled professionals. Many women were in tears. The men were outraged.
I've never forgotten that experience.

it is sad. i when i was little, i remember liking Treisa (idk how to spell her name) over Barbie and i would play with Treisa the most, Barbie was ugly to me for some reason. i like snow and mud. u can have snow ball fights, or make mud balls and throw them at people, either way they are still fun. but when i really think about it, there is more mud in the world than snow, because of global warming going on.

If you think this one was harsh, look into the blue eyes/brown eyes experiment done in a public school in the 1960s.
It STILL affects those students all these years later.

Yeah, I just bought two 'Bratz' dolls for my granddaughters. One was colored, one was white. My little 2 year old granddaughter TOOK 'Sasha', who is African American over 'Meygan' who is very caucasian. So much for that theory!
Hey, Pin...THAT WAS EXCELLENT!!

what colour were the kids? kids identify with their own. it's instinct. Not saying that's the way it should be it just the way it is. They will learn to love everyone when they are older as long as they are not taught to hate.
