Well
ichiro has plus in BA, SBs, and obs, but jones has advantage in hrs n rbis.Ichiro has the advantage overall, but Jones seems to increase his numbers each year from 2005, Ichiro is decreasing them. it also depends on who else u have, if u need speed, definitely take Ichiro, if u lack power, keep jones.
But SBs are more desireable than HRs and RBIs, so even if it turns out u have a surplus of speed, u can always trade ichiro for jones . otherway around, not so sure that the guy with ichiro will take the trade.

I would stick with Jones because power is the hardest thing to find and you cant drop a guy whos capable of hitting 50 homers any year. Especially if there is no Hits catagory, and you can get a decent basestealer through free agency, but not 50 homers. Holiday would be a great pickup, as would Webb depends on what your weaknesses are. As for Matsuzaka give it a couple starts to see if American Hitters have him pegged or not. Check out this blog for advice.

I'd take Jones if you plan on keeping him for a few years. I've had Ichiro for the past few years and like him a lot too but he is 33/34 yrs old and may lose a step or two this year. Webb would be a good option if you have no pitching yet.

They are both in contract years - but Jones is in the weak Braves lineup. Jones should have a good HR year, but the RBI's will be hard to predict on that team.
Ichiro is who I'd go with. The man does his thing regardless of who hits behind him. Let Jones go, and try to get Holliday of the Rockies.

Ouch.... I just flipped a coin, Ichiro in a contract year. Besides every league has all teams scrambling for SB's and you may lose HR's by losing Jones. You can get within 15 with a late round pick but you can't come close to making up those SB's without losing serious BA, Hits.

I'd have to go with Ichiro, since his lack of homers will hurt you way less than Jones' lack of steals and poor batting average. Plus Ichiro's the type of player who you know always stays focused, and will play hard & excel all the time, regardless of how the team is playing, whether or not he's in a contract year, etc.

Andruw Jones all the way.. no hit category goes against the Ichiro argument. Plus Jones is like 29 yrs. old.

No doubt Ichiro, even if Jones is in a contract year.

gotta be ichiro... in that mariners lineup, especially hitting leadoff, he will get more pitches to hit than Jones in the weak braves lineup
