If the Florida Supreme Court had not stolen the 2000 election from Vice-President Al Gore and he had taken his rightful place as Commander & Chief of the United States of America would the country be in better shape than with 6 years of Bush?

Al Gore personifies a cause to millions of people who fiercely believe he was rightfully elected in 2000, and who will never get over the events that stopped the counting of the votes in Florida and put the election in the hands of a partisan Supreme Court.

It was actually the U.S. Supreme Court that made the final decision in favor Bush. However, I know we're not surprised at that, its a Republican loaded body. I think one thing for sure had Gore taken seat in the chair that he was surely elected to we won't be in this mess today. Bush in all his inept wisdom has gotten us in a war that we can't win if we stay, and we'll look like losers if we leave. In other words he left our country without any good choices. That being the case we need to leave and start saving American lives. How many of these politicians have sons and daughters over there? Our country surely would be in a better standing than we are now,had Gore been seated, (noticed I didn't say elected), how could it have been any worst?

The supremely liberal Washington Post commissioned an extensive study after the election and found that Bush won by a greater margin than had been previously thought. This myth that the election was stolen is based on ignorance and simple Bush-hate.
And just to prove my point about ignorance, it wasn't the Florida Supreme Court who stopped the endless recounts in quest of a different outcome, it was the US Supreme Court.

The final decision was that of the US Supreme court.
On December 8, 2000, the Supreme Court of Florida ordered that the Circuit Court of Leon County tabulate by hand 9,000 ballots in Miami-Dade County. It also ordered the inclusion in the certified vote totals of 215 votes identified in Palm Beach County and 168 votes identified in Miami-Dade County for Vice President Albert Gore, Jr., and Senator Joseph Lieberman, Democratic Candidates for President and Vice President. The Supreme Court noted that petitioner, Governor George W. Bush asserted that the net gain for Vice President Gore in Palm Beach County was 176 votes, and directed the Circuit Court to resolve that dispute on remand. ___ So. 2d, at ___ (slip op., at 4, n. 6). The court further held that relief would require manual recounts in all Florida counties where so-called “undervotes” had not been subject to manual tabulation.

If Al Gore could have won his home state he wouldn't have needed Florida. Besides, didn't they count like recount like 5 times.

I tend to agree with you, but it s not productive to lament about the past. Better to focus your energy on electing the right people in 2008 by large margins. It's harder for them to fix the election when we win by a lot.

Millions life will still happily alive, 3000+ US troops will still be with their families and our nation's image in the world will still be everyone's envy.
All thanks to the cowardly conservative voters and silly independents during these two elections. But it is way too late to reflect the lose and wound.
