I do but only under "humane" circumstances. The medicine should be things that could genuinely improve quality and length of life for the humans. I also think it should only be done on animals that were specifically bred to have some similarity to humanity. Pigs hearts are so similar to humans that a whole lot of testing goes on with them in regard to heart disease. There are mice bred to have diabetes so that scientists can test different treatments. I also think that the animals shouldn't be put through unnecessary pain. For example, I think they should be given anestetics etc if they are to be given surgeries etc. Most of those scientists doing testing love and appreciate the animals they work with and go to great lengths to insure they are well cared for during their sometimes short lives. I know this because my husband has worked at several research universities and has met the people who work with these animals. Many of the vaccines that save lives today were initially tested on animals as well as insulin, antibiotics, etc.

I do not believe in animal testing for cosmetics. I mean there have to be plenty of humans willing to risk a rash to see if something causes an allergic reaction.

I think testing medications on animals is wrong. Animals should not suffer needlessly.

Here is a better question: If there was a superior civilization on some other planet and if the aliens wanted to test their medications on us, would you agree to that?

I disagree with it only on the grounds that innocent and helpless should be protected from abuse by those that use their strength and power for their own advantage.
There is nothing out there that is more innocent and helpless than an animal.
Most importantly, it's completely unnecessary now, and can be misguiding. The sciences have advanced so far to the molecular and cellular levels where there is not need for the entire specimen, all is needed are cells.

animal testing is stupid u know why?
because only 15% of the time does medicine and things work the same on both humans and animals
animals function differently and there are never accurate results
why kill the lives of so many animals, for most of the time nothing?

I don't think it's the best way to test medication. I personally think the government should allow testing on anyone with the disease that volunteers instead of the fda holding things up for years.

You consume Meat?... An Yummy hamburger or a scrumptious pork tendor loin?. i'm asking you via fact a lot of folk talk basically such as you mutually as munching poultry lollipop. in case you do, then first difficulty you may desire to do is to grow to be a strict vegitarian. which could make a difference. extra: it is not approximately 'torture' or 'discomfort'. it is approximately existence one has to think of. existence has a bigger meaning. to locate it, basically think of of your existence. you're removing somebody's existence to fulfill your choose (starvation subsequently) which will have been definitely fulfilled via somethingelse. i do no longer join the stupid argument that that's okay to consume the animals as long as they do no longer go through with discomfort. via announcing so, we are only being hypocractical. what's the style between the 'existence' of a individual and the 'existence' of a poultry?

No I don't believe in animal testingas such. Generally it causes the animals too much pain and suffering. And no, I wouldn't change my mind if it were to save myself or someone else. Conversely, I do belieev in stemcell research.
