Chrysler has announced they are laying off 13,000 people, and closing plants........now we are importing 7000 Iraqi people..We are in Iraq trying to have them run THEIR country the way WE feel is right! Before we have individual 'pods' all over the "United" States , give FREEDOM OF SPEACH back to the people..get rid of this 'politically' correct and deal with the people that are citizens of the U.S. and those that come here LEGALLY for citizenship.

I agree with your "individual pods" theory - it does seem that the latest immigrants to our nation don't seem to have a great interest in assimilating - hell, most don't even learn English. Perhaps it takes a few generations before they become "Americanized" - I hope so.
But to be fair with your contention that the US should start taking care of its own citizens, consider the after math of Katrina:
The Bush administration has spent 20 BILLION dollars for flood insurance payouts, another 2 BILLION for housing, another 20 BILLION for coastal reconstruction and 122 BILLION for general humanitarian aid and rebuilding the infrastructure.
And don't get me started on the ILLEGAL aliens' issue..........

why does the whole world think the government is responsible for taking care of its citizens. the whole premise of capitalism and democracy is so that people can take care of themselves. we are trying to show the world that all people can be self-sustaining productive citizens.
