If it is below freezing and not plugged in try letting the glow plugs heat 3 or 4 times turn switch off after each time wait to start lite goes out also push on accelerator about 1/4 way down in order to keep engine from dying when it does start. If all else fails try just a squirt of ether but DO NOT let glow plugs heat go from off to start in one quick motion.

Turn the key to the 'on' position and let the glow plugs warm up. You should see a message somewhere that it's okay to start the engine. If not, just give the glow plugs twenty seconds or so. Then fire it up.
