If you exercise a lot or have a low amount of body fat or a lot of stress, you could be missing periods. If you are worried, I would go to the doctor, but charting your cycle (see Taking Charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler) can help you see if there are any problems. In the book, Toni cites illness, travel, exercise, weight loss, weight gain, stress, or some medical conditions which can cause irregular periods. She has a whole chapter about irregular cycles and there is too much to write about in here. Check it out!

You should really ask your doctor about this.
