Yes we as humans have made great advances in equality but do you think it is all better now and every thing is just wonderful and
there is no social discrimination today, do you really believe that?

Im not upset about slavery..whats done is done. Theres no point in obsessing over what cant be changed. The Katrina thing was horrible. There was no help for weeks. I dont even think its a racial issue entirely, its that the "most powerful country in the world" was so unprepared for it. America even refused help, like were to good to take help from anyone else.

Umm...

HELLO?

There were a lot of white people here too.

Anyway, yes, the situation for African Americans has much improved from 150 years ago. No one in our community is treated differently, really. Mississippi is said to be the most racist of states, but I see no negative things that are said about other races or how they are treated differently.

The discrimination and maltreatment of blacks did not end with the abolition of slavery. Why do people continue to say this? What about the decendents of slaves? They really don't have the success and money from their families to fall back on, after all, they were slaves.

The effect of slavery has not yet worn off and will effect generations of people for years to come.

America's response to the Katrina disaster...
You mean packing people into a filthy stadium, keeping them in there at gunpoint, and spreading ugly rumors about the evacuees for months afterward?

They should not be upset about slavery. That's just another excuse for bad behavior and the chips on their shoulders. No one alive was ever a slave OR slave owner.
As far as your comment on America's response to Katrina, I don't know WTF you're talking about!!!!!!!!!
