mmmm good point suzy c, people eat on their own, and i have, so it shouldnt be weird if u went on ur own to the cinema. and it true that u wouldnt have someone talkin all the time. but isnt that part of the experience and even discussing the film afterwards?

hell yes. i always go to the cinema on my own. there is no better place to escape from the world for a couple of hours than emerse your self in the land of hollywood. there is nothing more that can spoil a movie than somebody almost sat on your face next to you and constently talking to you. as for these people who call you a loser, to hell with them, these people you will find are scared to death of being on there own, they couldn't even walk to the shops on there own without having some sort of heart murmer. they try to tell you its no fun on your own at the cinema but in reality wants you're there it's dark and you carn't talk anyway. so these people call you sad because they don't have strong character they need to have there hands held by there friends, after all they are proberbly afraid of the dark.
i was a navy corpman in the royal marines (thats combat medic) for twelve years and i'm telling you if you like going to the movies on your own, to hell with every one else. stand tall be a man. you don't want to be a mommas boy like the rest of them do you?. movies rock movies roll.

I have in the past gone on my own. If there was a film I really wanted to see and nobody else wanted to or I was at a loose end, I did. You just sit and watch it. True you don.t have anyone to discuss the film woth on the way home. These days though, the films are available from Blockbusters or the like in a few months.

I hold my hands up I did it a lot before I passed my driving test, I had a Moped and I would go to the cinema on my own. It was always on a Tuesday, family nite the tickets were cheaper. My mates use to call me(water of a ducks back to me), but the surprising thin was that I would see the same people who were also on their own.

I haven't done recently, but i used to all the time.
We have a small, local cinema with perhaps only 15 rows in some of the screens. They are ace for watching those films which completely suck you in until you are completely oblivious to what's going on around you.
Well, that's just me......
The other bonus of going on your own is that no-one will talk to you during the film, rustle in their pockets next to you or fall asleep leaning on your shoulder!!
haha
Hope this helps!

I go on my own. I think I comprehend the movie better. I saw so many on my own. And I usually go in the morning. I work the graveyard shift. So I watch the first time slot of the day. But it's always fun to go with people or your date.

I have. I was a nanny in a town where the only people I knew were the family I worked for. I would sometimes go to the theatre by myself. I kind of enjoyed it. I didn't have to share my popcorn and no one talked to me during the movie.

Sure.
Always remember one of the characters in The Outsiders, PonyBoy saying he prefered going to the cinema on his own. Going with someone else was like having someone read over your shoulder.

All the time, my friends live out of town and don't go to movies as often as I do. Sure it's more fun to go with someone, but once the movie starts it's not like you can have a conversation anyway.
And I'm single...

I have once and did not like it to be honest. Only reason I went was to see a film that non of my friends would want to see.
