Who was the lead singer? Someone said it was Mike Smith. I thought it was Stevie Winwood.

As far as what I can remember Stevie Winwood was not in Dave Clark 5. "Little" Stevie Winwood is what I remember him being called back in the sixties.....he was like 15 or so when he started singing on records.

He started his career with the Spencer Davis Group. (I got that part from Wikipedia)......I know I've liked his voice since the first time I heard it.

Although the group was named after him, Dave Clark was the drummer; lead vocals were provided by Mike Smith who also played the keyboards. The rest of the band was Lenny Davidson on lead guitar, Rick Huxley on bass guitar, and Denny Payton on saxophone, harmonica and guitar.
