I'd go back to approximately 1625 and tell the Parliament in England and the Virginia House of Burgesses that, unless they enacted laws against lifetime servitude, the New World would be thrown into centuries of turmoil and iniquity.
Until that time, Africans brought to the American colonies were treated like indentured service and released from forced labor after a certain period of time. But by the mid-1600's, life-long slavery was gaining its despotic foothold on American labor and America's economy. I'd like to tell the men responsible what their slippage into the evil of slavery did to millions of people and how its cruelties have influenced life in the US to the present day. Of course, I'd have to change gender before I go, since they wouldn't listen to a woman.

Ancient Rome,
and tell Ceasar to beware of the occult.

Or maybe tell Chris Columbus to pack for a longer trip...His map of Atlantis is outdated by about 9500 years.

Or maybe tell the Aztec to ambush the bearded men as soon as they hit the shore

For me it's tough. I'd be tempted to figure out if Nostradamus was real--I'd ask him, are they visions? Are they dreams? Maybe get him to sketch what he saw. I'd wanna find out if it was really the future he saw, or we interpret it that way, or what.

I'd also think about going back to the Mayan times and whatnot. I'd want to know why they ended the calendar at 2012 and how they figured that out.
