i made a second profile, but when i go into chat rooms my main account nickname shows up and i can't figure out how to get my other profile name to show up instead.

well...what's the point in having the option of making other public accounts if you can't use them?

If the second profile is part of your main account, I don't believe switching is possible. To use a second username would have to have its own account in Yahoo(?), or wherever you have this profile(s). You might want to click on "help" when you are in Yahoo Chat(?)

click "chat" on mess,......your nick name will appear,.........at the end of your name box , there's an arrow,.........click on the arrow...and choose .... if there's nothing let me know for further help gluck.
