I am not

It seems to me that he might hit maybe 2 or 3 long runs a game
aside from those he would probably average about 2 yards a carry

He is talented enough to be an every down back if he had to but I wouldnt use him that way. He is to good at catching the ball out of the back field and lining up as a WR. I would keep using him the way that the Saints do.

you are correct, reggie bush is all about those one or two plays, but thats who he is, the wierd thing is you know he is going to do it becuase he so fast, you cant really say he is bad, he can catch, he can run, he can return. I found that one of the things that makes reggie so dangerous is that he is so quick off of little drop passes because all it takes is one move and he's got fiffteen yards on you. but as far as running the ball for more carries i found from analyzing top football runningbacks that as a newcomer a lot of rookies are smaller and not as balky, but as time passes they slowly bulk up more. Just think how good reggie could be once he gets more expierience and has speed and has more mucle. Thats why i think reggie bush will be a top notch runningback in the nfl, if he decides to stay at running back. Some quick runningbacks are know to stay at reciever but i truly believe reggie bush and mcalister is a great combo. Mcalister will start and pound down on the defense and wear them out a bit, then reggie comes in with his speed and agility and famous cut back moves and tear apart the opposing defense. One thing is for sure, only time will tell. So my answer to your question is that yes reggie will become a everydown back in the future, probably in a couple years when he has more wieght and muscle.

He is a rookie it is too hard to judge now. We will wait and see what awaits in the future.

Right now I believe he isn't because when I watch his games. He never get any yardage and then will just bust out a 50 yarder and then it makes up for all his bad runs before.

I noticed this after I saw his Name on the ESPN ticker and it would have Bush 14 carries 97 yards. Then I would see highlights and it would be one long run. Without that he would only average like 2 yards per carry.

Hmm, not too sure. good Q though. The guys age is kinda passing by on him and he still hasn't been doing what they hoped for when they(Saints) drafted him. I mean, these days in the NFL, RB's hit their prime from age 22-28 and after that teams pass on them. Larry Johnson and L.T were lucky to get picked by their respective teams this offseason. I guess he(Bush) will just be a side kick until they find someone else to spend/invest in.

Yes. He looks like a better version of Brian Westbrook. I think Bush can touch the ball 25-30 times a game and be very effective.

Yes, because Bush is going to be like LT.
Remember LT was a Superstar out of the gate.
Bush may not ever win a rushing title at N.O with McCallister there, but he may compete in the Futue with LT and Jackson with total yards both Receiving and Rushing.
So Yes, he should be a everydown playing Back.

At the moment, Bush tries to make every play a spectacular, 80 yd play. He needs to learn to take what's given to him, and die another day. As the season went on, he began to show signs of this. It will still take him some time to hone his skills, but if he gets a little bigger, he could, very well be an every down back.

No way. He wasn't in college and he won't be in the NFL. He is more of a 'slash' type player than a real RB. He could never carry the ball 25-35 times per game for 16 straight games. His body couldn't handle it.

I'm not. I'm still not convinced that he can be an I back either. That's why I think that the Saints are in a good situation right now. They have Deuce who can do all the power running, and Reggie who can do all the finese running.

Its hard to say when he's splitting carries with a top 15 back. If he got say 20-30 carries a game he could become more consistent
