Don't know that there's a best - I've got lots of stuff myself from what must be at least 50 manufacturers.
As far as I recall the only Black Diamond gear I have is an axe, skis and bindings and I think a pair of crampons - I'd rate it on a par with the stuff I have from other manufacturers.
What's best for one person isn't necessarily best for someone else.

hmm.. i agree and say that different ones make different better things and specialize differently
