I was injured at a water park and their claim adjuster wants to offer me a settlement amount. My medical and other total 30K . They want to pay that and an amount for pain and suffering. I have to have a tendon transplant which has some risks involved. I'm not sure what a fair amount would be.

If your medical bills are currently at 30k you absolutely need an attorney involved. On a non-permanent injury it is reasonable to settle for three times your medical expenses.
If there is a possibility you are going to need medical attention in the future then you need to take this in consideration as well. It sounds as though your claim is going to exceed 100k. Get an attorney it is going to be in your best interest. If your medical bills are this high the attorney will most likely not even want a retainer up front.

First off, do you have a lawyer? Second, if you do get a lawyer, remember you have to split a 3rd of whatever you get with that lawyer. 30K in hospital bills seems like alot, but unless it's a permanent injury you pretty much have to take what you are offered because if you don't it'll be atleast 2 years before you see any money with a lawyer. If you settle out of court, you could be paid as soon as 2 weeks. It depends on how much time you have or how long you are willing to wait. If you are willing to wait, get a lawyer.

If you are permanently disabled, your attorney has to fight for your permanent disability. He'll know what to ask for.If they don't want to give you what you deserve,he can take it to court. The jury usually awards the amount that your attorney is asking for, maybe more. They'll try to settle out of court because they know that the jury will always do for the victim.Don't sign anything without your attorney present.

are you still asking this question..if it is that important to you why are you asking people on yahoo and not an attorney, what you can get....if you are going to milk the system at least give an attorney his share..i would ask for 10 million, seems fair since your kids have become alienated from you, you will lose mobility for the rest of your life and whatever else you said on your last posting

Whatever you do don't take any offer. Get a lawyer, you'll get a lot more.
