Sizes are ridiculous today! A size 0 today used to be a 6 a few years ago. Don't be embarrassed by your size. The Sexiest Woman in the World as voted by a magazine is Scarlett Johanssen and her clothes-even by the top designers are a size 6 or even an 8. A lot of girls I see should go up a size or two in jeans-those "muffin tops" (the roll of chub hanging over the top of the low slung jeans, even on thin girls) is awful-ask any guy.

First of all, big is beautiful. Haven't you ever seen Real Women Have Curves? Don't let stereotypes bring you down.
Second off, I wouldn't advise skinny jeans for ANYONE. They fit in all the wrong places and make anyone over a size two look five sizes bigger than they really are. Stay away from skinny jeans.
And if a store sells clothes that aren't your size, don't shop there. It doesn't matter how cute their clothes are. There are lots of stores that are fashionable and don't label their eights as tens.
It shouldn't lower your self esteem that you are a bigger size. The average American woman is size twelve. If anyone gives you beef about being big (which I'm sure you're not), tell them to get over it. It's your body and they have no business looking at it.
AND size one and zero are unrealistic and unhealthy weights. You shouldn't be a size zero. Even a size two is a little too tiny.
When I was your age (how old are you? 12, 13?) I had the same problem. But around fourteen, I started losing weight without really doing anything. I just ate right and exercised normal. No extreme stuff. And I lost about thirty pounds.

You should not be embarrassed by your size. At 14 your hormones are still fluctuating and your body changes because of that. Also a size six is tiny. When I was 14 I wore an 8 or 10 and was very thin and in shape. Take a look at your size 0 and 1 friends. Are they skin and bones or do they have toned muscles? A person with toned muscles is in far better shape than someone that is skin and bones and if you are exercising properly I'll bet you have some nice muscles built up. Also concerning muscle...don't freak out about the number on the scale...muscle weighs more than fat. I recently heard that a healthy waist size for a woman is 32 inches, so if you have a waist that size or smaller you're fine. Like other people have said...if these friends are 'true' friends they won't care what size your clothes are. Sizes are not what make friendships. Some of my friends disappear when they turn sideways they are so thin and some are twice as big as me. I like them for who they are not what they look like. That's the way your friends should feel about you. If they don't you might what to look elsewhere for people who are not so superficial. Hope this helps.

well if you're like a young kid like 16 or so, nothing anybody tells you is going to make you feel better. But honestly, if they're your friends they won't care. Depending on age, a size 0 or 1 is almost not even feasible. My sister is 5'7", 108 pounds and a size 5... so that size isn't typical at all. I'm shorter.. 5'3" and way more then that lol but I don't care about going shopping w/my friends and not buying the same size as them. I don't understand really why you feel embarrassed about that. Have some self esteem. If you have confidence it'll show. When they pick up a size 1, say "I don't THINK so. I'll go find my size." then laugh, and they'll laugh w/you and you'll have a good time.

Please try and stop worrying. Just because your friends are all size 0, it doesn't mean you need to be unhappy about being a size 6, which in my opinion is a perfect size. You shouldn't compare yourself to others, it will only make you feel bad and you should be happy with yourself.
One day you will realise how lucky you are and wish you hadn't let it affect your self esteem so much. Also, there is only a few inches difference between a size 0 and a size 6, it's hardly worth worrying about. People get too caught up with clothes sizes and it really shouldn't matter at all.
Take care : )

Yes, but no. You shouldn't be embarressed about the size you were but you always will know that if they are real friends they won't say 'you are a size ha ha ha' They will just help you find cute clothes in your size. Some people will laugh but you know then that they aren't true friend. I hope I helped you.

Most people do go through what you are going through. Its the way the stores advertise and how they stock their merchandise. If your friends aren't talking down to you, then try not to feel left out. I know that's easy to say, but really, you are the way you are, because that is what makes you so much fun to be around!
If you still feel embarrassed by your size, then find a friend about your size to go shopping with. I bet you'll feel a lot more comfortable and have a lot more fun. That's what I did. I still kept my thinner friends, but I did other things with them.
Good luck!

I'm 14, and I'm 5'4.5" and weigh 135 lbs. But I'm a size 2-4. Weird, I know. But then you look at someone else's answer (5'7" and 108 lbs) and they wear a bigger size than I do. Your size depends on your bone structure and genes. Don't worry!
Good luck!

No, do not be embarresed, my daughter is the same way, she has skinny friends, and whenever they want to go shopping, she doesn't like to go, because of this fact, she also like yourself likes to excersice alot, and that is just the way she is built
I hope this helps, take care, and like the person you are, and not what everyone else thinks, you are special, and wonderful, never forget that, Take care.
