If you get caught carrying a knife or a gun in the UK you'll be arrested, they're illegal. :-)

Enjoy, the people are wonderful (apart from the politicians) the weather is well lousy apart from three days in July when you'll fool yourself into thinking it's summer.

Don't stay in London, I find it a wee bit harsh, go out and see all of the country.

Go west, Birmingham, Dudley and the Black country. Go up North, head to Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds or Newcastle. Go South, Exeter, Southampton, Bristol. Go East, umm well Cambridge can be nice.

Check out all the countries of Britain, Wales is so beautiful, the valleys, the green countryside, never seen so many different greens in my life. Go to Scotland, breath taking scenery, Edinburgh has some of the best bars in the land. I've not been to Northern Ireland or the Republic ( I know it is not apart of Britain) so I can't comment ( I'm going this summer).

Basically bring a smile, a friendly disposition and enjoy this sceptred Isle, one of the finest places in the world.

(We have our problems, but really it's not bad)

Don't eat the food! The Brits can screw up a good piece of meat worse than my X Wife. Carry rain protection, and remember they drive on the wrong side of the road. The police are wonderful and the morning markets always have nice fresh foods.

Don't.

This is an intolerant, belligerent country, and you will find that you are incredulous, most of the time, about the deeply felt and freely expressed bigotry of the native population.
I speak as one who has lived in both countries, but has the misfortune to be British.

Try not to talk loudly in pubs or restaurants. Americans seem to talk very loud for some reason and we find being loud and showy to be very bad manners. Apart from that we brits are very welcoming to foriegners. Hope you like it here.

It's the 51'st state so no difference really. Well everyone is really stressed about the war and the economy so if someone loses their temper with you don't take it personally.

I want to relocate to London, I guess my only advice is to have all your affairs in order here to make the move to another country less worrysome. I hope to see you around the island sometime.

Bring an umbrella, IF you want to make friends? Do not talk about how much you love Jesus in public, we don't like that here.

You may find some of us are slightly rude & obnoxious, but apart from that, we carry guns & knives, like you do, & enjoy a sense of humour, like you do, so you should fit in just fine!!! (If you're coming here to get away from the Beckhams, you'll get a warm welcome!!!).
