I give my 3 1/2 year old Acidophilus every day. Whole Foods Markets sells one in chewable form, or at any health food store. Just make sure it stays in the fridge. I also give her gummy vitamin C and echinacea by Lil Critters, and the fruit and veggie supplement by Lil Critters. When they seem to have a cold coming on I also give Zicam. Lots of orange juice and water. I also burn eucalyptus oil in my diffuser.

Unless there is reason for concern, there is no need to introduce substances into your toddler's system. It could do more harm than good. If it is a concern, consult a doc. You may just get prescription strength vitamins though since there is really no good way to boost the immune system...besides staying away from pathogens and frequent hand washing.

If the child was breast fed they should have pretty decent immunity already. This is not going to keep them from getting colds - in fact, getting colds at daycare and school is going to increase their immunity.

Other than that, the best thing you can do is make sure your child is properly nurished, gets enough vitamins from natural sources, and drinks plenty of fluids. Avoid sugars, salts and processed foods.

Ugh first of all no artifical vitamins. People take way tooo many vitamins and are overdosing which can have detrimental effects.

I would say a vegetarian diet high in Vitamin A, C, and E. So try blueberries, almonds, carrots, etc. Also add some flax seeds Omega 3s prevent cancer :)

They make an echinacea for kids 4 and up that are in gummy form. Also, oranges and orange juice and a good multi. Elderberry made by sambucol is also good. Go to a vitamin cottage and ask about the echinacea and elderberry. Best of luck! My child is in his first year of preschool and catches everything so I know what you are going through.

The best way it to not keep him/her in a bubble. Take them everywhere you go, let them touch everything, be near people who are coughing or are sick. The best way to boost is to be exposed.
