All thru history I feel that acedemia has seemed to take a position that we know almost everything about everything. My theory is that we actually have discovered maybe one percent. What are your thoughts?

--If there is a true God( which I believe) can we really find the end of any kind of His knowledge?

--So if that is the case, it could be said that we have hardly come to the lowest of the lowest fraction of knowledge yet to be discovered!
----Please note some thoughts to take in consideration:

(Ecclesiastes 3:10-11) “10 I have seen the occupation that God has given to the sons of mankind in which to be occupied. 11 Everything he has made pretty in its time. Even time indefinite he has put in their heart, that mankind may never find out the work that the [true] God has made from the start to the finish.”
---If you note the idea of forever learning("time indefinite")

(Ecclesiastes 3:14) “14 I have come to know that everything that the [true] God makes, it will prove to be to time indefinite. To it there is nothing to add and from it there is nothing to subtract; but the [true] God himself has made it, that people may be afraid on account of him.”
----The being afraid, really means to be in awe and have great respect!

---Note the vastness of Gods' forever knowledge:

(Isaiah 55:8-9) “8 “For the thoughts of YOU people are not my thoughts, nor are my ways YOUR ways,” is the utterance of Jehovah. 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than YOUR ways, and my thoughts than YOUR thoughts.”

Note further:

(Job 38:31-32) “31 Can you tie fast the bonds of the Ki´mah constellation, Or can you loosen the very cords of the Ke´sil constellation? 32 Can you bring forth the Maz´za·roth constellation in its appointed time? And as for the Ash constellation alongside its sons, can you conduct them?”

--Interesting point made as how to bind the constellation or keep them in tact--Can you imagine the science behind such a scenaro?
--What about the rest of the celestial bodies, that have and have not yet been discovered also might we imagine the different types of sciences or scientific laws that have not been found out yet?

If you mean knowledge about what exists, what state things are in, then our knowledge is essentially zero. If you mean knowledge about how things work, then our knowledge is far, far greater, but just how much it is of the total can't really be known until we know to a reasonable degree of probability that the Universe is or is not being run by a higher universe. If it is not, then I would say we know a fair amount about how things work. If it is, then our knowledge could be arbitrarily miniscule, and possibly even infinitesimal.

The only valid answers to this can be 0% or 100%.
We can calculate the percent only if we know what the total knowledge is. Then as we know it all, answer is 100%.
In another situation, if we don't know the size of the knowledge,
whatever else we add to our knowledge, we remain at the same state. Thus our knowledge tends to zero.

We know a lot less than we think we do. Thinking we know more than we do closes us off from discovering all the things that are possible. We need more people to keep asking Why? and What if?

I'm with you. I think that we've only discovered about one percent of everything in the Universe. There is so much out there that we haven't discovered and some of the stuff that we've discovered may not even be true.

Can one possess a fraction of infinity? Even if one can, the percentage of scientific knowledge we possess if much smaller than the percentage of stupidity and ignorance in the world!

It's that unknown part that is way too vast to even comprehend. even new insects are being discovered continually. we have about a teardrop's worth of an ocean of unknown knowledge that we could and will continue to learn.

Who knows? But when you consider that dark energy and dark matter account for maybe 98% of the universe, and we can't even get agreement that they exist, there must be some way to go!

Human race can not exist infinitely, but we don't know when the last day will come. So, my guess is we have already spent probably 0.000001% of our time.

Zero, or close to zero, because there is an infinite, or nearly infinite amount of possible knowledge.
