I like the Dodgers staff. Not a dominant number 1, but no over-the-hill guys, and consistency up and down the rotation. Better depth than most, too:
Schmidt
Penny
Lowe
Wolf
Billingsley
Kuo will be in the pen but was pretty dominant as a starter last year, and Brett Tomko can be a serviceable starter (destined for the bullpen at the moment), too.
Dodgers have enough depth that it's virtually guaranteed that they'll deal a starting pitcher before the season begins. St. Louis is one of the teams talking to L.A. about acquiring pitching.

1. Detrioit. Can't argue with that.
2. Angels. Bartolo Colon, the guy who won the 2005 Cy Young Award is their worst SP, and he was hurt last year, so... hopefully he'll get better.
3. Florida. Willis and Olsen will get better. Johnson and Sanchez r already great. Nolasco, ya i noe, 4.8 somein ERA, but he was a rook, he'll get better and as a number 5 starter, not bad.
4. LA Dodgers. Schimdt, Penny, Lowe, Billingsley, and Wolf. Darn good. (the reason florida is ahead of them is that i think that nolasco will be better this year than wolf)
5. Yankees. If Pavano's healthy and Igawa can come through, i see this rotation as a dangerous one.

red sox or dodgers
red sox:schilling 43, beckett high homer totals, papelbon first year starting, matsuzaka neevr played mlb before, wakefield knuckleballer. that said schilling is the ace for a reason he knows how to pitch prob 18-20 wins, beckett 18-20 wins will rebound in second time around al, papelbon dominated last year as closer, matsuzaka shut out dominican republic in final of wbc, wakefield hard to hit bc knuckleballer
dodgers i dont know as much so ill just list them and say a little:
schmidt ace 18-20 wins, penny 16-20 wins, lowe 14-18 wins, billingsly 10-15 wins, wolf 10-15 wins

for all you who said red sox, the question was BEST... not OLDEST. It's gotta be The LA Angels is Bartolo Colon gets healthy. He won the Cy Young two years ago so he is not done. John Lackey is an underrated STUD... 4 complete games last year and 2 strait shutouts. Jered Weaver and Ervin Santana are bright young stars and both had great records and ERAs last year. the fifth spot will probably go to Kelvim Escobar; who is plain SOLID.

i hate to say it. but the dodgers have the best rotation. They have Schmidt, Lowe, Penny, Wolf, Billingsley, and Hendrickson would be a good spot starter for them.
