LOL! I sorry, but I just have to laugh...
I work as a staff accountant at a CPA firm and I didn't do well in Algebra either. I struggled through the class, even with a tutor, and ended up with a B (a low B).
No, you don't have to be super smart in math. Just good with the basics like addition, subraction, division, multiplication, and percents. Sometimes you will need to use formulas.
I have noticed that some people have an 'knack' for accounting and some people don't.
Maybe you should take a few courses and find out if this is something you would like to do.

No, you don't have to be good at math.
Anyone can be an accountant - its not difficult to make one column equal another. However, to be a really good at it, you must be the type of person who really wants to understand why something (anything) works the way it does. Seems wierd, I know, but these type of people never stop until they get an answer to a question that makes sense.

accounting is not higher math.. you need to be able to add and subtract and do a little division.. fractions are not required.. accounting requires accurate recording of the liabilities and and assets and knowing the difference between the two.. no you don't have to be an expert in math..but you really need to be good at knowing where to put the numbers..

No you don't. Just the basics. You do need to be good at learning a bunch of man-made rules and knowing how to apply them. You also need to have a good sense of how business works.

No, but if you hate math, don't even try to learn accounting.
