Best way is to buy through an intermediary and transfer the risk. For example, you could place the order with my company (a U.S. firm with HQ in NYC and an office in China), pay a down payment (typically 30-50%), and then my company, which has contracts with freight forwarders, will order the product from the supplier in China and get it delivered to you. Then you can pay the balance in 30 days. This way you are buying from a U.S. company, with little or no risk plus 30 days credit on the payment balance. For this I will charge you a management fee (a % of the FOB value of the goods). I will charge you shipping at cost - my rates will be better than you can get on your own because I import from China regularly. I may also be able to arrange a pre-shipment inspection of the goods in China to make sure you'll get what you expect. Give me a call to discuss: 212-847-7175.

Do you realize that China is a communist country and uses forced (slave) labor?

If your conscience doesn't bother you then just type in "China, Import" on the web and you'll find about 1000 companies that are milking this service. I won't wish you good luck though.

Yes you must have the goods insured. There are letters of credit with international banks involved and much paperwork. Do a search on the web for international logistics firms and find one to act on your behalf to accomplish these things. You can get in over your head if you are inexperienced.
