If I hear, "Well maybe if you had a boyfriend" one more time, its going to be a fight. Any suggestions on how to tell her that my life is my life, and if I don't have a boyfriend right now, is not the end of the world. If I don't have a problem with it why in the hell does she? Please some one tell me.

Tell your mom that you know she cares but you are not looking for a boyfriend and she needs not to worry about it. When you find someone you will know.

Be happy with "Well maybe if you had a boyfriend". Because once you DO have a boyfriend, it is going to be "So,when are you getting married already". Then if you get married, she will ask you repeatedly when you are going to make her a grandmother, in front of the relatives, friends and everyone. My favorite response to that one is "Right now, mom, right here on the floor in front of your coffee table. Yoo hoo, where are you honey?"

Actually, you can be polite, and say, "yes Mom, I know you think that would nice." and then don't argue, just REDIRECT the conversation to something else. ASK her questions, specific questions about her interests, activities etc, and then she will be so busy answering that you'll avoid the unpleasant times when she's lecturing/quizzing you. If all else fails, tell her you've got to run (to the bathroom or something) and cut the conversation short.

Tell her she will be the first one to know when you get a b/f. Until then you don't want to hear her mention it again.

I told my mom i am 18 i am on my own you don't pay my bills and i don't live with you so stay out of my life if i make mistakes they are my mistakes no one elses and i will deal with them..
