I don't. I think any American old enough to run for office should be allowed to do so.

If you dislike Al Franken [please note spelling] so much, and you live in Minnesota, by all means, vote against him. Talk to friends and relatives who live in the state about voting against him. Work for the Norm Coleman campaign, or at least donate to his campaign [which, I believe, you can do no matter where you live].

But may I offer a suggestion? If you are trying to convince people that Coleman is a better choice than Franken for the Senate, learn something about the position of the two. Point out those things you feel are Coleman's strengths and Franken's weaknesses. But don't start out any attempt to sway Minnesotans with the question you asked here. It is a complete turn-off and, frankly, counter productive. I would suggest that you ask, instead, for ideas on how you can help Coleman win the campaign. After all, this is a place for people to share ideas and expertise.

Will anyone take a comedian seriously? What qualifications if any does he have to be a US Senator? Saturday Night Live skits?

If it were that he was just a comedian, he'd be better off. But we know his political views, and anyone with those political votes doesn't deserve to be voted for.

But then again, idiots vote for Dick Durbin, Barbara Boxer, and Patty Murray, so he'll get votes...

He couldn't keep a radio station running, who the heck knows what he's going to do in government.

The SNL money must've dried up.

Can't the Dems come up with a better candidate? Come on, isn't this scraping the bottom of the barrel?

That's Franken--if you can't even spell his name correctly then your obviously uninformed about his views or his candicacy. When he swoops Norm Colemans seat away in 08' you can go ahead and puke your guts out--maybe you'll get lucky and some of the Republican in you will come out.
