For a family of four who would like the ability to shower and do laundry simultaneously, what size well pressure tank should we buy? We currently have a somewhat old Flotec FP71101-3 16"x22" (not including the legs) that poops out mid shower, it also takes its time starting up. Are these things worth repairing or should we just buy a new one?

I use water the same way. I have an 88 gallon pressure tank and have been happy with it. As far as I know, tanks are not repairable.

Might want to look at the pressure switch and its piping. If it's slow coming back on, the pipe and/or the switch may be partially clogged with silt.

Not sure of the exact size, but we have a 30gal tank. Not really enough for two people with the washer going. I would think that a 80 gal would be good if it is pressurized properly. I listed two sources for you to check out, and they looked very informative. The first site shows you what you need to know in order to change out the old, and the second one shows you the size you need depending on family and usage needs. Hope that this helps.
