When a women gets an abortion and recieves a local numbing medication and sedative for the severe cramping that can happen during procedure, does it work? Does it take the pain away? Will you not feel it? I heard it takes the severe cramping away but you may feel some regular cramping from your uterus because it streches down to it's normal size, is this information true?

Yes, it is true there is little cramping. They will also provide antibiotics to ensure no infection and something for mild pain. Overall, she will have a menstrual cycle, that might cause the cramping.
You also might be able to pay a little more to get a sedative to knock her out during the procedure.

yes this information is basically true. sedation causes you to be slightly out of it, so you still feel the pain but you are all spaced out. i do not believe they actually give you a local(numbing meds) i know if some girls who have not had the money and have gone throughthe procedure with nothing but tylenol. afterwards it will be like a bad period. there will be bleeding and cramping.

And for the others who have answered or feel they need to answer, the girl is asking for info, not a sermon.

Why would you be care if you werent considering it??? I think if you are doing your homework, a little cramping is the least of your concerns, check out the pass hugs support boards, theres so many girls there that are screwed up from having had abortions, cramping or no cramping the physical scars are nothing on the psychological damage that can do afterwards.

Yes, it is true. Even if you're just curious, possibly call a Planned Parenthood or another place that does abortion to find out.
