I was in a coma for 5 weeks and actually did die during that time for a few minutes when my heart stopped. I was in a very deep hole and I could see the light above me and hear my wife's voice telling me I had to fight. The sides of the walls were smooth and I couldn't figure how to get out. I knew up there was where I had to be but it was impossible for me to get there. I was a very bad feeling and I knew if I couldn't get out, I was doomed. This is the exact feeling I had, doom. I thought about God and a good friend of mine who was a Pastor prayed for me before I went into the operating room. I thought about him and what he had prayed and I could still hear my wife telling me to fight. I don't know for sure how long this went on but when I awoke, it was dark outside and I couldn't even lift my arm or talk because of tubes down my throat. I had been out for 5 weeks and I didn't know it. I thought it was probably that same day as I went in the hospital. There was a clock and the date was written on the board in front of the bed but it meant nothing to me. There was a nurse with me, she was doing something else, and I couldn't seem to get her attention. After a few moments, she looked at the dials on one of the monitors and looked at me. She ran out of the room and soon 3 doctors came in and began talking to me and telling me to squeeze their fingers and lift my foot or arm and so forth. To lift my foot or arm took every bit of strength I had. I knew I wasn't squeezing his fingers very hard but it was all I could do. Then one of the doctors told the nurse to go get my wife. Those were the sweetest words ever spoken. He began telling me what the date was and how long I had been in a coma. It wasn't all getting through to me though and it meant nothing at the time. I just was very confused about everything. Finally my wife came in, she held my face in her hands, and it was wonderful. I knew then all would be all right. That was in March 2004. All is well now and I am now a born again Christian. Just take my word, God is real and so is Jesus. This I know for a fact... You can scoff and do what ever but GOD IS REAL.

I have severe allergies to some foods Peanuts being one of them. When I was 8 years old I ate one half of a Planters peanut. Both of my eyes swelled shut then my throat. I was in anyphylaxic shock I remember seeing the blood vessels in my eyelids pump slower and slower until I awoke looking at my body from above the room in Wilmington General Hospital. I can remember everything the doctors were saying and doing. When they used the defibrillator (Shock) everything went black. I awoke three days later with breathing apparatus tubes down my throat etc.. I had collapsed both of my lungs and was pronounced dead for 7 minutes. The doctors were sure that I would have brain damage or lack of motor skills and dysfunction because of no oxygen to my brain for that period of time. I'm 30 years old now and strong mentally as well as physically. I'm not a religious type of guy but I do feel that was my spirit overlooking my lifeless body in that hospital room and there is proof of "out of body" experience or if you want to say it DEATH....

I was injured in combat and "died" 3 times before i was evacted to a hospital ship. I also slipped in and out of coma. I don't know what to say other than this. I was in a white light and that was it. No time, no relatives, nothing. I did however the last time hear a Corpman in the hall talking with a nurse about how I needed an ICU, yet they were outside in the passagway at the time. I told the nurse and she was shocked at how acurate I was when I was in a comatose state. As I look back i was like over them, near the ceiling...

I did not know I had been clinically dead until the surgeons told me at a later date. I do remember the dream I had just before waking, but it was about horseback riding. Therefore, the incident had little to do with most of the "near death" stories.
