you should probably go to the doctor if this is a new pain because when i was pregnant I had back pain the whole time. Although I could not take anything for it, you can... so go to the doctor because you may have torn a muscle or something.... I would suggest Midol but I beleive it is only ibprofen 200 mg.... Which is what regular ibprofen is.... Use a heating pad if you have one that helps with me!.... Also if you do not have a heating pad, fill a sock with rice and tape the opening off with just scotch tape and microwave for like one minute.... put it on your back for instant relief!!! Good Luck!

Hi I am sorry to hear that you are having back pain, I know that you said that you had never had this before and that you are due for your period today, so this is probably weird for you. To be honest with you it probably is because of your period, that has happened to me many times before and it is the kind of pain you are describing. For whatever reason I notice sometimes when my cramps aren't as bad my back tends to hurt more and vice versa. The only suggestions that I have to help you feel better is to have someone rub it for you, keep applying heat and to rest. I hope that you feel better soon!

I've had horrible backpain when my period has come. The only thing that has helped even a little is a heating pad and laying down for a while.

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Try exercising all parts of your body. It also sometimes is due to disuse atrophy. Consult a doctor if it persists. You can also look for information in the web. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html

I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I call it "period back."
It feels like you have arthritis in your lower-back or something. I don't think lying on your back helps it. Letting hot water from a shower go on your lower back feels really good. Or you could use a hot water bottle and put it under your back.
