The Homeopathic Remedy prescribed according to your symptoms will help you the most. For a Homeopathic prescription your complete details will decide which is the most appropriate remedy for you. Please post your details if you want Homeopathic suggestions. Homeopathy treats the patient not the disease.

Ulcerative colitis is an autoimmune condition. You likely have tried all the different food combinations to determine which ones are the worst triggers. You can try taking the bacteria, but that is not the root cause. You need to try something that will reduce the inflammation. You could try taking a fair amount of fish oil as in higher doses it does have an anti-inflammatory effect. Start low and see if that bothers you, if you can tolerate it work up to 7 to 10 tabs a day and see if you get results. Keep in mind it will take weeks for you to notice any improvement, this is not an over night cure.

I like you had(have) UC for over 20 years. BUT last year I found out I actually have Celiac Spue Disease. Allergy to gluten. Now am on a Gluten Free Diet & am doing much better. My doctor says this is common UC,IBS, Ulcers all look similar to this disease. Until the intestines are healed there can be allergies to many others foods also dairy, nuts etc. But once complete healing happens many of those go way as long as a person stays on a 100% Gluten Free Diet.

Eat high soluble fiber, this will do more than medication to normalize you. Fruit pectin, psyllium powder, and oat bran are good. Wheat bran is not because it is not able to dissolve in water.
Increase fiber a little at a time to avoid bloating and cramps. The goal is 40-50 grams per day.
Folic acid and pantothenic acid are frequently deficient, so a good B complex would not hurt.

Don'ts - aspirin, codeine and its derivatives, narcotics, and cheese can all make it worse

My daughter-in-law has ulcerative colitis and all natural Optiflora helped her greatly. It actually treated the cause and not just the symptoms. It's a two-product system that include Probiotic (Bifidus & Acidophilus...microflora) + Prebiotic (FOS...food source for microflora). Patented guaranteed delivery of 500 million microflora to intestines due to the triple layer encapsulation used. No side effects.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions.
