i own a repair shop, and if you,ll use some go-Jo on it, it will come right out ,the same stuff you clean your hands with is great to remove oil stains from clothes and carpet also, and auto upholstery, and then all you have to do is rinse it out ,and its like new again, good luck,i hope this help,s.

All of the above replies (except the cat litter, haven't heard that) might clean the stain but, will leave residue that will cause the area to attract dirt in the future. Go to to grocery store and look for a carpet cleaner called "Incredible". It will remove the stain and not leave a residue (o ph level).

I would START with some Upholstery Cleaner and a heavy brush. All this available at Pep Boys.

Depending on the color of the carpet, I would be weary of products with bleach.

Whatever you do, do it soon -- the longer you wait, the tougher it will be to remove, if at all possible.

Good luck!!!

well you could put some catlitter on it for about a day and it will lighten it then i would suggest use a carpet cleaner over it a couple times

Just use regular soap and warm water....with a brush or washcloth.
