Soak them first in a bowl of acetone nail polish remover this will soften and remove some of the acrylic . Then take some cuticle nippers and gently cut away the remainder. Take your time doing it so you don't damage your natural nails.

I have mine taken off at the salon...It costs around $10, but really worth it to have it professionally done...They usually soak them and then use that little mechanical file-thing to get the acrylic off in between soaking them.

It's the only way I feel confident I won't damage my real nails.

Buy some 100% acetone and soak your nails in it. It is time consuming (30-45 min) but it's very safe and will melt away all the extra stuff.

Good luck.
