Confidence is a personal attitude in which you believe you can accomplish things and be successful. You really believe it! Over-confidence is the same thing, only inappropriate because the thing you think you can do is beyond your abilities.

There's no trick or short-cut that will give you confidence. Confidence is earned. You get it from doing two things:
1. Achieving things...large and small
2. Giving yourself credit...not discounting your accomplishments

Each time you give yourself credit, it's like depositing money into a savings account. The more you deposit, the more interest you draw. The interest is confidence.

It's the attitude, "Hey, man, I can do this. Why, I've done this, and this, and this, and this.... Sure, I can do this!"

Tip...go back and review everything you've done in your life. One by one, give yourself full credit for it. In other words, instead of saying to yourself, "Well, but that was nothing much..." Say: "That was a good thing. I'm glad I did it. That took effort and it turned out well."

The self-help section of the public library has loads of books on raising self-confidence. You would be doing yourself a favor to read some of them. Also, get out some books containing positive affirmations--they help.

Learn to meditate--it helps clear the mind
Get fresh air and exercise--they make one feel better about oneself.
Write down a list of all the things that you do RIGHT--you may be surprised to see that there are many more than you realized.

a) take action and succeed ...pat yourself on the back and do it again and again
b) take action and fail ...pat yourself on the back and do it again and again

either way, the pat on the back is for taking action...there's no substitute....so go ahead, try saving money, do a course, ask someone out, travel to another country, start a business...think big and whether or not you succeeded, at least you know you tried!

positive thinking and focus on what you want to achieve!. Do not get distracted from your ultimate goal and do not listen to negative comments unless they are constructive and lead to understand your purpose better. Meditate and follow your intuition.
Good luck
