Check if your AC power source is correct. Usually if you plug it in an AC outlet that has a lower voltage, the device will still work but the output DC supply may not be sufficient to run your laptop's monitor normal capacity.

When you unplugged the adaptor, your laptop uses its DC back-up battery, therefore it uses the correct voltage/current supply. That's why your monitor display reverted into normal display.

Normally when you plug-in your Laptop's DC adaptor plug, it will turn-off the connection of the laptop's back-up battery. The input power supply will flow from your AC power outlet converted to DC replaces the back-up's battery power source. If you have a multi tester, you may check if the DC power out is the same as the DC power output indicated in the label of your AC to DC laptop adaptor.

your power settings are a bit messed up. look on your keyboard. there should be a key in one of the corners that says
"fn" inside a box. remember that. now look for a key along the top or sides that looks like a sun. a circle with dots around it, and an up arrow. now, press and hold the "fn" key, and repeatedly press the sun button.

Press the "FN" Key on the lower left side of Keypad. While holding down the "FN"" key, press the "up arrow" key (usually on lower right side of key pad) to increase brightness, or the "down arrow" key to decrease brightness.

Hope this information helps.

Cheers!

attempt entering the BIOS whilst the laptop starts off (well-called entering setup.) in many cases the base line is F12 or delete, although that's different keys additionally. then you definately can default brightness settings for whilst its plugged in and whilst it is working off the battery
