Are you as sick & tired as I am of the constant responses by our current Gov. during QUESTION PERIOD in parliament with blaming the previous gov. on every topic that's discussed?! The tactic of contantly justifying their answers by BLAMING & POINTING FINGERS towards the previous Gov., for their (Conservatives) record of governance now is outrageous & annoying! Would a true leader of Canada govern by example to show a great legacy or govern by justifying ones choices based on anothers blunder, marking a legacy of victimization?
I for one want to see what THIS GOVERNMENT is going to do for Canadians NOW! The Conservatives are in power NOW, so when will they quit whining & get on with it!! When will they start acting like adults, who represent the citizens of Canada, instead of school kids in a playground trying to one-up each other with heckling bravado. IS THIS STRONG GOVERNANCE or BUREAUCRATIC POSTURING BY POLITICIANS WHO REFUSE TO BEAR THE RESPONSIBILITY OF GOVERNANCE?

Yup, it's pathetic, not leadership.

Having said that, the Liberals did pretty much the same thing back in '93. Chrétien's new gov't blamed Mulroney's (& Campbell's) gang for everything from aboriginal affairs (Oka) to finances (and there maybe they had a point -- but I remember Chrétien promising to dump the GST, and we're still paying that.

I wish I could say Canadians will respond sensibly in the next election by voting more for the NDP, Greens and Bloc. But history and polls show no noticeable change since our last election. And without proportional representation, we're stuck in this mud for a few more years.

Maybe it's true that we Canadians are getting the governments we deserve. =sigh=

I am not a Canadian, but America has similar problems. Illegal aliens and Mexican drug cartel gangstas is a problem nobody wants to deal with, everyone wants to blame someone else, and there are enough people involved for this blame game to go on for several years.
This is only one of the many responsiblities of a government which everyone wants to ignore. The government should primarily exist for the good of its citizens. It will not matter who replaces Bush next, because it will be the same old thing. Too many want to wrestle and blame, and few want to get anything resolved.

The problem is simple. When it comes time to vote there is no real choices. The blame game is as old as biblical times probably longer. So it doesn't matter who wins an election the masses won't be happy.
