The Mariana Trench is located off the Marianas islands. In the pacific east and south of Japan. It is a deep trench in the seafloor that is 36,000 feet deep. Mount everest would fit in it and stil not reach the surface.

The significance of the Mariana Trench (or Marianas Trench) is that is the deepest ocean depth in the world.
