My Macbook takes no longer than 1 minute to boot and sign on where as my PC takes nearly 5 minutes to fully load everything. Web browsing you won't find much different however I've crashed internet explorer far more times than I have Mac's Safari (default internet browser). Macs for the most part are about the same as a medium priced PC, for the Macbook it starts around $1200, however the Mac mini is around $600-$700. If you're a normal PC users there is a learning curve to switching to a Mac however nothing that a little Yahoo or Google search can't help you with. I don't have anything against the PC however since I've gotten a Mac I do prefer to use it more often. Downside is that most software out there is PC only still so there are many software programs which do not work for the Mac.

The official time for a bootup, with the default setting (OK, mine is a bit crazy, since I open mail, check mail, open iTunes, get all podcast updates, open iCal, get all the calendars' refresh, oh, and I have some 10s of calendars, too, and then, start up all the helper, like apache, mysql, bluetooth module, and, last but not least, butler. Right), is 45 seconds or less. With mine, it takes eh... well, twice that much.
As far as accessing website, hun, that depends on your internet connection. If I am connected to my mother's dialup, of course it will be really slow, no matter what I use. Vice versa, if I go and use the T3 connection from the office, everything will load fine before you blink.
As far as mac v. pc, price wise, if you build your own pc with the same specs with a mac, the pc will end up more expensive (ask the ZDNet guy who did this experiment). And, on top of this whole thing, you CAN run windows natively on bootcamp, tho for this, you have to get the intel based mac. Also, software-wise, I don't think there's anything that I can't do in my mac that I can do in windows. I mean, for everything that you need, you can practically find a software that does that on a mac... or online. Except for counter strike, in which case, you just load up bootcamp and go on windows mode.
What I will suggest is that you look into what you want. Go to the apple store and play around, see if you like that.

Mac is faster with the duo core 2 processor. If you are doing web stuff mac is better. All mac programs work seamlessly together. Can't say that for PC. I mac is more expensive than a pc. If you are doing art or web design go mac

Which is faster, Ford or Chevrolet? Depends upon the motor under the hood. Which is faster PC or Mac? Depends upon the CPU under the hood.
