What's a liberal and conservative and all those labels?

What makes you a liberal, or conservative, or all those political labels. Whats the difference? Im asking this cuz Im gonna be voting come the next presidential election and Ill be legal later this year. I here people always say these words but what it means? We never talked about this in grade school or high school if I can remember.

No one was taught these words in school because they are just hateful labels that others use to describe people that don't necessarily agree with them. But, these people doing the labeling don't even know the people they are describing as this that or the other! I don't label any one but a bigot & you can recognize them from the things they say about others.
Pay no mind to this type of hate mongering. Make up your own mind as to how you will vote, it is a private matter, & don't buy into the labeling of others that may or may not agree with you. It is the right of others to not agree with you, just as it is your right not to agree with them. But you don't have to resort to name calling; labeling.
Congratulations on your first voting experience! Vote for the rest of your life, it is your duty & honor to do so.

liberal = people who favor more government involvement in real life (i.e. - higher taxes, more government services, national healthcare, etc)

conservative = people who favor less government in real life (i.e. little to no taxes, little government involvement in the economy, pro-business, etc)

As of right now in the USA, liberals tend to be Democrats and conservatives tend to be Republicans.

And yes, you probably did talk about this in class a lot.
