i have an albino corn snake, and it has sheded over 8 times. When should I take it to the vet to see if it's male or female? And for it's actual age, I got it when it was pretty young on March 23 06. Thanks.

can tell at any age, be sure you go to a reptile specialist. They need to probe the snake and handle it carefully. Some specialty reptile pet shops can also do it for you for a small fee and they are sometimes much better than vets. No one can really determine the actual age, unless you got that from the breeder, depending on what it was feed and how often. Also the quality of food and caging will determine how big and fast a snake can grow. Most experts can guess a estimation of age from size and condition. I raise corn snakes nad foster and rehab wild injured snakes.

You haven't stated your reasoning for sexing your snake. Unless you are planning to breed it, it really isn't worth the time or expense. If you really need to know the sex though, you should find a reptile specialist vet in your area or a reputable breeder to help in your quest. There is virtually no way that I am aware of, to acurately tell your snakes age unless you might be able to find out through the place you purchased it. Good luck and enjoy your pet.
