My friend is always on the honor roll. Last year she got 5 A's and 3 high B's. She was devasted at the B's (even though I told her its the percent that counts). This term she is pushing herself so hard! Will she crash and burn?

Yes, I am a senior in high school and all of a sudden I think reality hit me this year. My GPA has been going down because I took the hardest classes possible. She needs to slow down. I never leave time for myself and I am either at high school or at my college classes, never giving myself a break. It will be hard for you to tell her but she needs to know now. Good Luck!

To answer your question directly, perhaps not. But my own personal experience concurs in saying that your friend may have a bit of trouble making the transition from the world of academia (which emphasizes what you know) to the "real world" where advancement is highly dependent on who you know.
Looking back, I would say your friend would do herself a world of good and not sweat the grades quite so much.

nobody can be pushed too hard academically, unless the pressure is used in a wrong way...a normal human only use 3~5% of the brain, which is enough for us to survive. education enable our capability to use the rain more efficiently...there is almost no limit on how much the brain can stress...however, one can be psychologically "sick" from over-stressing on something thats impossible to achieve or just use stress in the wrong way...in your friend's case, she is not pushing herself too hard, she is just pushing herself in a wrong direction
