Chris LeDoux.
My cousin's and I all sing and the greatest influence on the style and way we sing came from Chris LeDoux. All we sing is country.
We made up this song about a rodeo and it mentions Chris LeDoux in it a couple of times.
It's really sad that he died. :( He was such a great guy and singer.

i migrate inspiration depending on what i am working on at the moment. right now, i cannot stop listening to iron and wine. all of his songs are amazing, but his first album is like a textbook for songwriting. his lyrics paint simple pictures of a simple life and leave you feeling sadly removed from that simplicity. i've tried to capture that paradox in recent songs, but only to pay homage to what he's already done. listen to southern anthem, muddy hymnal, or lion's mane.

I think Dylan and his twisting of words.
The sone I wrote that may be reflective of his style is "pages of my youth" a simple G-C-D song written a long time ago.
