Well, The question is... who owned it before you? A 16 year old who drove like a maniac? 175,000 is alot on a 99. Right now is about the time when everything will have to start being replaced. Generally Honda motors usually last for about 250,000 miles before dying. I own a Honda, so do my brothers and my father.

If there are good records kept and it looks clean no major leaks or funny ticks or knocks also look at the tires.Tires tell u alot about the car.But a well kept and maintain honda will get over 300,000 miles or more.Thats not counting the little things that could go out.

It can vary... some folks have already had to repair something major like the engine or transmission.... while other folks have gone close to 400,000 miles before having to do something like that.
Good luck.
