( consume really means to destroy or finish) You are also a consumer if you buy services as opposed to `finished goods`. By buying a diamond ring, you could also be called a speculator/investor, because, diamonds are one item that usually increases in value with time.

Insist from your Jeweller that your intended stone is not a conflict diamond. The violence and murder in the name of "freedom fighters" is, in reality profiteering and control of natural resources at the expense of the people. Demand proof that your stone is not a Blood Diamond and help stamp out this vile illegal trade.
