It is WAY better. I work for tips, and when the $1 bill is removed from circulation, my take-home pay will increase. for those snooty people who refuse to carry change - well, guess what their minimum tip becomes?
For the rest, they may be more inclined to carry change in their pocket, including quarters, and if they need to tip, they might just figure it is worth unloading the whole pocket-ful of coins. Even if they would normally tip $2, it is not that big of a problem to tip $2.40.
At the end of the day, if my tips are increased from $40 to $55, I will be totally stoked. Bring on the $1 coin and banish the $1 bill!!!

We have a one dollar coin and a two dollar coin...you get used to it. One dollar and two in paper is pretty useless...so is money ALL THE SAME COLOUR!!!!!!
I'm sure anyone who loves getting tips loves the coins because men usually tip big and are the ones who don't like change in their pockets so they will tend to discard them...add's up pretty quick too.

I see them once in a blue moon. People complain that they are too heavy to carry around..(mostly women).
