Listening to and noticing fairies (or faeries), is simply a matter of awareness. They tend to be fond of people who seek them out and if you put the effort into it you will often find they put just as much effort into making themselves appear to you. http://www.psychic-junkie.com/mystical-fairies.html

No Fairies don't exist. The farie legends originated in Ireland hundred's of years ago and were always a part of Irish superstition until 50 years ago. They began in some way to explain the small circles on the ground all over Ireland that were the remains of ring forts, small dwelling places, that were prevelant here in the early centuries. Hence the name Fairy ring. It also gave people something to talk about at social gatherings before they had TV and sometimes was a way to keep people away from other peoples property.

Yes, according to my heritage (McLeod, from the Isle of Skye) they not only exist but interact with humans. The McLoeds have a flag hanging on the castle wall that was given to them by the faeries.

According to my culture (Scandinavian) they absolutely exist. They can be either helpful or dangerous. You should always respect them, just to be on the safe side.

Yes, but not the stupid pansy sprites that most people think of as being faeries now. Faeries are god-like, corpereal, invisible neighbors to mankind who are helpful unless they get pissed. If you piss one off than you are good as dead.
