I am trying to save up to go shopping, but everytime I get money, I spend it. I got 10 bucks, and in 2 days I spent it on 60 chocolate covered pretzels for other people. (it was for valentines day) What should I do? Put it away somewhere under lock and key?
Also, What do you do if you loaned someone money and it's been over a month since they paid you back? (2 people)
HELP!!

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and say "I'm not going out, I'm staying home." What I do is make a list of things I need to get done and by the time the list is done it's too late to go usually. Plus I get more stuff done that way.
You gotta quit loaning people money, the best saying I ever saw about that was "you loan a friend money, and an enemy repays it."

When you get some money you should do 3 things with it.
1. Save some of it
2. Spend some of it
3. Give some of it (charity, church, etc.)
Get 3 envelopes and label each one of them for the categories above. When you have spent all of the money in the spent envelope, that's it until you get more money.
You don't touch the savings money. This way you are regulating what you are spending and forcing yourself to save.
Also - it's a good idea in the future to not loan money to anyone. It's a tough lesson that I had to learn early as well.

First, don't want to spend the money? Get it out of your checking account and wallet. Don't carry much cash on you and if anything is extra, get it into a savings account as soon as you can!
For loans from a friend, dont loan people money! And if you do,, write it down in the form of a contract. People can and will screw you. If its not written up, your bagged.

My best way for me to save money is buy everything with cash. put your check into a savings account and only keep like $100 cash or whatever to spend on things. as far as loaning others $, dont do it.

I think that you should sell things in your house(just random useless things) so you can quickly get money and go shopping instead of living the torture of $25 looking at you for a week!

chinese have a saying that if a person's nostrils are exposed, it means that this person will lose monely.
Perhaps try to make your nostrils face the ground. By focusing on this, you won't have time to think about the $2.50 beef jerky here and the $1.00 snicker bar over there.

practice some common sense and ask yourself everytime you're about to make a purchase (AM I GONNA NEED THIS??? ) separate between what you want and what you need.
