Yes i can tell the difference. Itz not only the facial features but also the way they dress and the way they walk. Japanese ppls' eyes are usually bigger and rounder than the Chinese, Japanese girls have fuller lips and (to me) they appear prettier than the Chinese ones, Japanese ppl usually prefer smart look whereas Chinese ppl often like casual sports wear (including females). Id say that the Chinese tend to have rather square shaped faces and the japanese are rather of round shape or triangle. Japanese women walk more like women and the Chinese more like men.

Yes, the facial features are different. I think the japanese have more prominent cheek bone structure and their eyes tend to curve upward in an angular fashion, where as the chinese tend to have a more rounded face with eyes that curve downward.

Yeah I learned to tell by actually going to Hawaii where I saw a lot of japanese people.. Japanese woman esp. seem more feminine than chinese and shorter, thinner and i hate to say it but prettier :}

my chinese friend said that japanese people have shorter limbs. i can tell the difference but only because my friend use to always tell me who was chinese and who was japanese. i really don't know what it is that sets them apart but i can tell

No, I can't. Best to ask, or just call them Asian. They don't like it when you foul up and get it wrong. Sometimes they are Korean too.
