I not only think an 18 yr old is not old enough to be responsible to drink but I also think a 16 yr old is not old enough to be responsible to drive. I dont think an 18 yr old is old enough for the responsibility of war either.
Laws have changed, you are not only responsible for yourself but for everyone in your home or car, doesnt matter if you are drinking or not. I think 18 is to young to drink. You need to learn some responsibilty and see what the real world is like. Most kids arent ready for life after high school. I also think that schools need to rethink there programs. Not only show what drugs can do to you but alcohol. And prepare you more for supporting yourself after graduation. They need to learn more about what is going on today then what happened in the past. Why force our children to take learn another language. Instead make our 16-18 yr old kids take home ec. so they can learn to cook and clean and take care of thereselves. We have to many kids raising kids that dont know how to teach there children anything. It is sad that we need to teach these things in school cause parents these days dont know how to do it. Children now a days are so to immature.

people that are 18 can:
*go to war for our country
*hold public office
*be in a legally binding contract
*choose our president and other elected officials...

but
*cannot drink alcohol.
it's rediculous.

the us has THE HIGHEST drinking age in the world. even our territories (virgin islands, puerto rico, etc.) have 18 as the drinking age.
