Use iTunes it is free to use unless you use the music store I really can't say enough use the software that came with the hardware. Open iTunes click "File" then "Add file to Library" meaning your iTunes then click on the file where your songs are go into that file and click on the song. Then drag the music to your iPod or set your iPod through iTunes to automatically add songs to your iPod.

plug in ur ipod and it should automatically update it w\ songs. if that doesnt work than go to FILE and go down to, sync ipod.

put them in Itune first. and then drag and drop.
