i was cleaning my screen with liquid eyeglass cleaner (guilty) and as soon as i turned my Toshiba Satellite laptop on, i noticed a small portion of the screen at the bottom was brighter than the rest of the screen. i've tried everything from changing the resolution to rubbing the area, but nothing seems to work. any answers on how i can solve this without having to pay money? if there really is no solution other than that, then where do i go to repair a Toshiba Satellite laptop computer?

That happened to me... Turn your laptop off and keep it off for an hour or longer. Water got under the protective screen and might touch the main screen. So let it dry before turning it on. Usually you can see the spot when its off

How old is the Toshiba laptop and what model?
If it's still under warranty, just ship it back.

Else check the Toshiba website at http://www.toshibadirect.com

They have an online warranty verifier there too, just need the numbers from the bottom of your laptop.

I think if you leave the computer on for a while the heat will evaporate any moisture and the bright spot will go away. Other than that theres not much else you can do accept replace the LCD.

The LCD backlight may need tweaking, however, this is a common complaint among LCD users.

It's called backlight bleeding.
